Pertinace Barbera D’Alba 2005

Softer and less acidic than a typical Barbera, but also with slightly more aging potential. This wine features soft, rounded deep berry flavors that should pair with savory red sauces and roasted white meats. Definitely a food wine even with the toned down acidity.

Rivetti Massimo “Froi” Barbera d’Alba 2006

Hairy red raspberries and strawberries on the nose transitioning into a flavor and feeling of a soft, twiggy palate. The finish hits with a sparkle of dry cherry cola. Balanced and elegant, and will benefit from a short decanting.

Made from Barbera grapes in the town of Alba in northwest Italy, this wine will pair with lightly seasoned meats- roasted duck, lamb, or venison without sauce matched with buttery potatoes and gravy.
